WHAT’S IN THE SPACE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH?

By Judith Parker Harris | December 1, 2009

Block: Renal failure. Buster: The best of science and love combine for recovery.

Dear Friends, I haven’t blogged in awhile. My darling husband, Jack, was hospitalized due to an allergic reaction in his kidneys to either the H1N1 vaccine, a change in one of his regular medications or a bug bite on a recent trip to South Carolina. We’ll never know for sure.

A seven-day course of Prednisone was the treatment that science provided. Combine that with Jack’s sheer will and steadfast determination to recover. Then add the power of love sent in waves by his daughter, son, and entire family, plus a bouquet of wonderful friends, putting their prayers and love into the mix, and you have HEALING taking place – miraculous healing.

No one predicted 100% healing for a man of Jack’s age – except Jack, the man who has known all of his life that he would be all right and that he could handle anything. I dropped everything to focus on Jack, something I’d never done before. After all, who could drop work? I finally did, and my reward is Jack.

My gratitude list is huge. My determination to live in gratitude every day is resolute.

What’s in the space between life and death? Love, determination, courage and connection to spirit in whatever form it takes when you think you are alone in the battle for your life. You are not alone. You are cushioned by the seeds you have planted all of your life.

Wishing you and your husband all the very best. The healing power of family does work miracles.
